Hull City 1-0 Middlesbrough: Oli McBurnie sends Tigers to Premier League with 95th-minute winner

Hull City are back in the Premier League after Oli McBurnie capitalised on a keeper mistake in the 95th-minute.

The Tigers created the best chance of the first half when McBurnie's header came off the top of the bar. Neither side could take control of the opening period as the nerves were there to see.

The second 45 was similar to the first half, neither side had control of the game, and it looked as though the game would be heading for extra time.

Northampton Town reaction | Brian Barry-Murphy | Cardiff

Brian Barry-Murphy spoke to the press following City’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Northampton Town, as promotion was celebrated at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“The perfect end to an amazing season at home.” Brian began. “They gave the supporters so many goals and it was such a comprehensive victory, it was the perfect way to end.

“Our intention was to try and show the very best parts of our game and attack and try and score more goals than we have done in our previous home games. To do that is testament to the ability of the players and the mentality to do it, when it would have been easy to probably just coast through the game.”

Potter, who replaced Julen Lopetegui in January on a two-and-a-half-year deal, has struggled since joining. In the 25 games played under his tenure, West Ham managed to win only six. Potter leaves West Ham with a 24% win rate, the worst of any manager in the club’s history.

West Ham finished 14th last season, which in effect w...
